Once upon a time there was a magical tree. The tree wasn’t born magical. It was an ordinary tree just like any other. Once, when the tree was very small, it got planted in a special place where it was surrounded by children. Every day, as the tree grew, it heard the sound of boys and girls laughing and having fun and the tree flourished and after a while it started to grow berries. Now – not everyone knows this – but children’s laughter can be a very magical thing – and as the children laughed and played near the tree, their joy rose up and made a very special berry appear on the strongest branch of the tree. While all of the other berries on the trees fell off when Autumn came, the jewel-berry stayed on the tree and the more fun the children had, the bigger the berry grew.
